Since I moved to Vietnam, the three most frequent chat up lines are: 1. "What is your date of birth?"; 2. "Are you single?"; 3. "Did you come back to Vietnam to find love?". The answers are: 1. 19.12.1979 (but since 25, I have got older, but absolutely no wiser!); 2. Definitely yes!; 3. What actually does love mean? (Ironically enough Prince Charles gave a similar answer to the press in 1981 whilst physically hugging his 19 year old fiancée Diana! I don't remember this as I was only 3, but when I was told this recently... it kind of spooked me!)

So let's get physical? Hugs anyone?!? Probably not here lol, but let's get personal... www.iminhtouch.com is more than a fashion blog but a platform where I can express my thoughts and discuss matters on my mind.  After my first steps, work and new experiences living in Ho Chi Minh City, It's time to share with you more about my current state of mind, maybe you will help me to find some answers...

I was surprised to find out... "What is love?" is one of the most regularly searched phrases on Google. Well, there is definitely a reason for that. Usually, whenever we ask, “What is love?” it’s usually because we’re confused if a certain special someone really loves us, or perhaps because a certain special someone just accused us of not really loving them. But here is my big question: is love limited in its definition and only between a man & a woman? I don't believe so, I know enough long term same sex couples to prove this otherwise! However, I'm not idealistic enough to believe everything is supposed to become something beautiful, meaningful and long-lasting. Sometimes people drop into (and out of your life) to show you what is right and what is wrong, to show you who you can be, to teach you to love yourself. Sometimes they unconditionally make you feel better, share an umbrella in the rain or the wisdom of their years and sometimes just simply go with you to down a beer to help you drown your sorrows. Not everyone is going to stay forever, and we still have to carry on alone and thank them for what they've taught us. There are so many different forms of love... Even Camilla Parker Bowles found her perfect man! So I ask again what really is love?

For me, since I moved here, I have learnt a lot more about myself and discovered what makes my heart skip a beat... They say "absence makes the heart grow fonder" in other words you don't appreciate what you have until it is no longer there. I have realized how much I love my family and friends in Switzerland and how much I miss them dearly... Perhaps this devotion is a form of love... This love is perhaps enough for me at the moment... It is definitely not easy to find someone who isn't afraid to admit they miss you. Someone who knows that you are not perfect but looks past your flaws and peculiarities. Someone who's biggest fear is losing you forever. One who gives their heart unconditionally. Someone who says "I love you" and means it. If this is love, I must say that I really am a very lucky man. I have a beautiful family and amazing friends. This article is for all you guys thousands of kilometers away in Switzerland and in Houston:). I truly love you and miss you every day.
